Dr. Vinod Joseph Abraham is a Professor of Community Health and Vice Principal at Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore. He completed his MBBS (1993) and MD in Community Medicine (1997-2000) at CMC, where he has served as faculty since 2000. He earned an MPH from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2005. Dr. Vinod has authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Vinod has a keen interest in caring for vulnerable populations, including the elderly, people with disabilities, and those requiring palliative care. He established CMC’s first rural day care center for the elderly in 2003 and received the ICMR’s Prof. B.C. Srivastava Foundation Award in 2009 for his contributions to community geriatrics. Expanding his focus, he completed the IAPC Certificate Course in Palliative Care (2018-2019) and launched the Community Health Department’s Palliative Care Program in 2018.
